Importantly, only short stretches of the microtubules displayed detachment from the plasma membrane in clasp-1, and the detached microtubu ...

... β-catenin is a multi-functional protein involved in two essential cellular pathways: cell-cell adhesion and transcriptional regulation8. β-catenin contains 12 armadillo repeats capped by a C-helix. An amino acid important for β-catenin’s electrostatic interactions with ligands is Lys-435 known as th ...

... Recent experiments suggest an interconnection between cell proliferation and programmed cell death (apoptosis), although the detailed molecular mechanisms remain unclear. We have hypothesized that expression of some apoptosis regulators is cell cycle-dependent, which in turn influences tumor cell ch ...

The patient would benefit if it learned that the loss of Imd would make them more susceptible to S. pneumoniae, even though the exact mechanis ...

... Kewley, 2004). Members of the bHLH-PAS protein family are characterized by an N-terminal bHLH domain required for DNA binding and dimerization, as well as by a PAS domain that acts as a secondary dimerization interface (Crews and Fan, 1999; Taylor and Zhulin, 1999). Transcriptional control of target ...

... et al., 2014). In support of this hypothesis is a recent study demonstrating that the calcium dependent protein kinase 5 (CPK5) is important for the propagation of the ROS wave in plants (Romeis and Herde, 2014). SULF1

Sulfatase 1, also known as SULF1, is an enzyme which in humans is encoded by the SULF1 gene.Heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPGs) act as co-receptors for numerous heparin-binding growth factors and cytokines and are involved in cell signaling. Heparan sulfate 6-O-endo-sulfatases, such as SULF1, selectively remove 6-O-sulfate groups from heparan sulfate. This activity modulates the effects of heparan sulfate by altering binding sites for signaling molecules.
