Position Description – Business Analyst Title: Business Analyst Department: Technology Date: September 2014 Reporting to: Delivery Manager Position Purpose: The Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for analysing Xchanging's business problems/ needs and working with the Technology team and outsource companies to provide the business with technology solutions which are valid and efficient. This involves the end to end process for deliverables attached to the solution, including business requirements, functional change specifications, test plans, execution, time and cost estimates and managing stakeholders. The BA will be accountable for the delivery of the solution within time and budget, to the acceptable standards of the business, in a high compliance and change management environment. Sound knowledge or experience in Project Management for technology implementation projects Experience in business process architecture and modelling (ideally over a 3-5 year period) Hands Configuration experience with workflow management software e.g. Guidewire, sharepoint, K2 etc Key internal / external interactions: Challenges: To be the lead on advising technical solutions to operational problems Working with remote technical teams KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES KEY ACTIVITIES MEASUREMENT Financial  Monitors and updates project plans, reports and statuses  Accuracy of estimates  Provides estimates of time and resources to complete project tasks  Deliverables delivered to scope within agreed budget and timeframes.  Completion of Xpert SDLC deliverables including:  Meets Xchanging methodology, quality and governance standards  Business Requirements  Meeting project task deadlines  Functional change specifications  Adherence to SDLC delivery milestones ensuring that all requirements are Technology  Business cases © 2008 Xchanging 2 agreed and signed off prior to development  Test plans  Test execution (both functional and regression)  The successful completion of User Acceptance Testing  Manages internal and external customer relationships.  Presents and gains acceptance of proposals and solutions.  Analysis of the customer requirements, design and solutions to ensure alignment to business and technology strategic direction and goals.  Investigate perceived problem areas or inefficiencies in the Xchanging production technology platforms and business processes to implement solutions which increase speed and efficiency via automation.  Provides and presents to business solution options, their benefits and feasibility.  Zero defects during UAT  Zero defects post implementation to production of responsible solutions  Successful Compliance Reports from external and internal auditors  Positive Feedback from external and internal customers  Successful delivery of IT system improvements, maintenance and support, and projects  Updated Test Case Library, Agreed Services/Changes Catalogue & Known Errors Database after each implementation.  No issues found in Post Implementation reviews  Bimonthly/regular group presentation of implemented changes/project work  Meets service level agreements for external and internal customers  Feedback from external and internal  Provides input on issues, risk, business case, feasibility, business requirements, solution design  Advises customer(s) and project managers of any implications to the business or project from any analysis of requirements, issues, risks, and solution options  Develops project initiation documents, project tasks, and estimates for project plans, and provides updates for project reports and statuses.  Reviews and feedbacks on project plan, resources, tasks and estimates.  Follows Xchanging Australia methodology (Xpert/PRINCE2), standards and governance in all aspects of project delivery. Co-operate in all investigations of same and apply workstation ergonomics training.  Initiate risk assessment and implement corrective actions for identified hazards.  Be familiar with WHS policies and where to find procedures, including: o Hazard, Injury and Incident reporting o Bully and Harassment o Workplace ergonomics o Evacuation procedures.  Attend and complete all WHS training annually Record Keeping  Comply with records management requirements.  Feedback from manager  Adherence to timely completion of all SDLC documentation  100% pass on audit of record keeping Complete all records management training when required.
