Mourits Exophthalmometer
Mourits Parallax-free exophthalmometer
This is a new standardized exophthalmometer, designed by Professor Mourits
of the VU University Medical Center. The most eyecatching innovation is it’s
parallax-free prismatic system. Both prisms can be slided individually,
providing quick and accurate measuring of the exophthalmus. The readout
is done in a single measurement, excluding mistakes when using a traditional
exophthalmometer.
Key features:
-
Parallax-free system.
Durable, lightweight design.
Accurate prismatic optics.
Patient friendly with smooth edges.
Easy to use.
MW-9500

Slit Lamp Adapter
ErgAdap slit lamp adapter
The Medical Workshop ErgAdap slitlamp adapter is designed to create a
more ergonomic working angle for your slit lamp. Most slit lamps have
their microscopes fitted horizontally, but with the ErgAdap the microscope
will be tilted 20° to enhance comfort when working with your slit lamp over
a longer period.
The ErgAdap is a state-of-the-art product with excellent optics. Available
for the following slit lamps:

Rustringremover
Rustringremover
The Medical Workshop Rustringremover has been part of our program for a long time and has been improved several times over the
years.
The instrument operates on one AA size penlight battery which is housed in
the handle. The Faulhaber® motor uses little energy and one battery should
deliver full power for the equivalent of three hours of continuous operation.
The motor is started by pressing the switch near the top of the instrument
handle.
Releasing the switch instantly stops the motor. The friction chuck is designed
to accomodate the specially designed (Medical Workshop) short shank dental
burr. An assortment of 6 burrs is included with the instrument. The sizes
have been carefully selected to handle most of the encountered rustring
sizes. Burrs are made of stainless steel.
The type of burr supplied performs a superficially scraping action (not a
drilling action) while there is no danger of perforating the cornea. The
instrument can be used with a slitlamp, a simple head loupe or even directly
(unmagnified). Only the burrs need sterilization. The instrument itself can
be wiped off occasionally with a little alcohol.
Key features:
-
Durable construction.
High tech Faulhaber® miniature motor.
Stainless steel burrs.
Elegant ergonomic design.
Instant stop switch.
Available with natural aluminum or blue handle

Disposable Trephines
Key features:
-
Manufactured of case hardened stainless
steel.
Sharpness surpasses all existing trephines.
Half-open handle design for accurate
positioning.
Knurled handle and central pivot for stable
fingertip rotation.
Non-glare finish.
Blade thickness only 0.09 mm.
Gamma sterilized
Ready for use
Disposable supersharp trephines
The sharpness of the Medical Workshop disposable trephines is much higher
than any conventional trephine. The sectioning technique requires hardly
any pressure. Therefore, care must be taken when using these trephines
for the first time. However, due to the extreme sharpness, the incision
causes less than the usual deformation and distortion and gives no wedge
formation.

Luyten’s Optimark corneal marker
Special designed corneal marker for placing a crossmark on the patient’s
eye when in upright position. The corneal curve normally changes when
patients are moved to horizontal position, but when using the Optimark
you can determine the center of the cornea while the patient is still sitting
behind your slit lamp.
After the doubling-prism of the applanation tonometer is removed, the
Optimark is moistured on a sterile inkpad and placed on the tonometer.
Now a cross is marked can be placed on the patient’s cornea.
When the patient is moved to a horizontal position, the cross gives the
correct position.
MW-8500
Optimark corneal marker for use on slitlamp
tonometer.
The Optimark corneal marker is designed together with Professor Luyten
of the Leiden university hospital.
Orthoptic Instruments
MW-122
Gobin’s prism test for testing binocular vision.
Standard version is 15 prism diopter.
Also available in 4 prism diopter.
Supplied with table support.
Principle of the Gobin’s prism test:
One eye moves
= binocular vision.
The light reflex remains in place.
No eye moves
= suppression of the eye behind the prism.
The light reflex moves nasal on this eye.
Both eyes move
= suppression of the eye without prism.
The light reflex moves now onto the eye without prism.
