Orthodontic tooth movement implies adaptation of the periodontal tissues. Orthodontic treatment may thereby support periodontal treatment but can also aggravate the periodontal situation, in case of uncontrolled tooth movement combined with an inflamed periodontium. Today a large number of adult patients is seeking orthodontic treatment. To achieve the best possible treatment to the individual patient, orthodontists, periodontists and general dentists need to work in very close cooperation and thus must have a sound knowledge of physiologic and pathologic periodontal conditions and the possibilities of each specialty to influence them. Topics UÊÊÊThe physiologic periodontium UÊÊÊInflammatory and non-inflammatory pathology UÊÊÊPeriodontal prerequisites for safe orthodontic treatment UÊÊÊRehabilitation of periodontal patients: periodontal and orthodontic implications UÊÊÊOrthodontic tissue regeneration UÊÊÊPeriodontal tissue regeneration UÊÊÊOrthodontic treatment and development of gingival recessions UÊÊÊPredictable treatment of single and multiple gingival recessions Course type Theoretical course (total of 7 CE credit hours) Language: English Organisation (Announcement send to) Mrs. C.
