Alien Genes Project

Today you will find out what your alien looks like, based on it’s parents’ genetics. In
order to figure out the exact genotype and phenotype, you will complete a set of
Punnett squares that show what your alien looks like. There are several categories,
and not all aliens will have the same traits. Describe the parents genotyoes and the
alleles before you set up your Punnett squares. You must Draw your alien. Have fun.
You will always select the genotype of your alien (Phenotype is in bold) found in the
following square of your Punnett square:

Objectives: Students will be able to determine alleles of gametes and construct a
punnit square. They will use the genotype to determine the phenotype of the alien.
Genetics: 2 Mutation and sexual reproduction cause genetic differences in a population.
G2g: how to predict alleles based on the parents genetics.
G3a: how to predict phenotypes in a cross from parental genes, and the type of
inheritance (dominant or recessive).
