If we discover that after k steps we are again at a central vertex, we know that the wrong move happened after k/2 steps (k can only be even due to the structure of Gn ) and we can backtrack to that point and take the other edge. After only O(n2 ) st ...

If, on the other hand, many pushes are delivered in synchrony with the mentioned oscillations of the magnetic needle, even waving a weak magnet can produce strong oscillations of the magnetic needle. This is achieved if the small magnet is moved back and forth at a frequency identical to the natural ...

Measurements of Ultra Strong Magnetic fields in Laser Produced

Two novel techniques to measure these fields have been developed. The experiments were carried out on the femtosecond ASTRA and the picosecon ...

Theoretical and experimental justification for the Schrödinger equation

The theoretical and experimental justification for the Schrödinger equation motivates the discovery of the Schrödinger equation, the equation that describes the dynamics of nonrelativistic particles. The motivation uses photons, which are relativistic particles with dynamics determined by Maxwell's equations, as an analogue for all types of particles. This article is at a postgraduate level. For a more general introduction to the topic see Introduction to quantum mechanics.
