... As in the noninteracting ring particle model, the lowest energy is obtained by minimizing l0 þ , for integral l0 . This will supply appropriate c~ . If is not an integer c l0 ð; tÞ will be a moving lump, and time-translation symmetry will have been spontaneously broken. If is half an odd integ ...

Super symmetry vastly simplifies the mathematics of string theory and is therefore basically necessary for the ...

Local supersymmetry, for which the supersymmetric transformations depend on spacetime, is known as ‘supergravity,’ and automatically includes general coordinate invariance. ... “The past and future are equally real. This isn’t completely accepted, but it should be. Intuitively we think that the ‘now’ is real, while the past is fixed and in the books, and the future hasn’t yet occurred. But physics teaches us something remarkable: every event in the past and future is impli ...

Event symmetry

The term event symmetry refers to invariance principles that have been used in some discrete approaches to quantum gravity where the diffeomorphism invariance of general relativity can be extended to a covariance under any permutation of spacetime events.
