MAX7036 300MHz to 450MHz ASK Receiver with Internal IF Filter General Description

... all on-chip. The MAX7036 uses a very-low intermediate frequency (VLIF) architecture. The MAX7036 integrates the IF filter on-chip and therefore eliminates an external ceramic filter, reducing the bill-of-materials cost. The device also contains an on-chip automatic gain control (AGC) that reduces th ...

... mentioned earlier were specifically designed to be suitable for high gain, high power applications. The output stage on all of those hybrids is a digital drive H−bridge with an output impedance of no more than 20 W and is capable of driving zero−bias receivers of very low impedance. Reviewing key areas when designing with the NE605

... The main function of the IF section is to clean up the IF frequency from noise and amplitude modulation (AM) that might occur upon reception of the RF signal. If the IF section has too much gain, then one could run into instability problems. This is where crucial layout and insertion loss can help ( ...

Radio transmitter design

A radio transmitter is an electronic device which, when connected to an antenna, produces an electromagnetic signal such as in radio and television broadcasting, two way communications or radar. Heating devices, such as a microwave oven, although of similar design, are not usually called transmitters, in that they use the electromagnetic energy locally rather than transmitting it to another location.
