... member of the baryon octet. As such, it can in principle be used to probe all four of the fundamental interactions. While this is not astonishing in itself, there are a few notable properties that do make the neutron special among all baryons: It is electrically neutral, easy enough to produce and s ...

... establishes in our opinion the strongest evidence for a truly random event in nature so far. Secondly, we prove that there exist finite events where quantum theory gives predictions as complete as any no-signaling theory (even possibly supra- quantum) can give. This result shows that the completenes ...

The Violation of Bell Inequalities in the Macroworld

(pers. com.) suggested that the macroscopic violation of Bell inequalities by the vessels of water example does not have the same ``status'' as the microscopic violation in the Bohm example of entangled spins, because events are identified that are not identical. This idea was first considered in Ae ...

In general the claim that EFTs involve this or similar types of idealization has motivated the view that EFTs are intrinsically approximate and context-dependent (Castellani 2002). Quantum electrodynamics

In particle physics, quantum electrodynamics (QED) is the relativistic quantum field theory of electrodynamics. In essence, it describes how light and matter interact and is the first theory where full agreement between quantum mechanics and special relativity is achieved. QED mathematically describes all phenomena involving electrically charged particles interacting by means of exchange of photons and represents the quantum counterpart of classical electromagnetism giving a complete account of matter and light interaction. In technical terms, QED can be described as a perturbation theory of the electromagnetic quantum vacuum. Richard Feynman called it ""the jewel of physics"" for its extremely accurate predictions of quantities like the anomalous magnetic moment of the electron and the Lamb shift of the energy levels of hydrogen.
