Critical damping resistance measurement using ballastic
Critical damping resistance measurement using ballastic

... At the beginning of the process, the current may even increase, but then it quickly decreases exponentially. Case 3. Underdamping: R2 < 4L/C In this case, the roots of the characteristic equation are complex conjugate, which leads to damped oscillations in the circuit. The change of current is given ...

A New Power-Factor-Correction Circuit with Resonant Energy Tank

... The energy tank draws current from the ac line during the switching-on of the active switch, S, in every high-frequency switching cycle. When S is switched off, the energy stored in the energy tank is transferred to the dc-link capacitor, C1, through the energy transfer diode, Dpf. C1 is a bulk elec ...

Josephson voltage standard

A Josephson voltage standard is a complex system that uses a superconductive integrated circuit chip operating at 4 K to generate stable voltages that depend only on an applied frequency and fundamental constants. It is an intrinsic standard in the sense that it does not depend on any physical artifact. It is the most accurate method to generate or measure voltage and, by international agreement, is the basis for voltage standards around the World.
