Rock Cycle Pamphlet
You will be making a tri-fold pamphlet that explains the process of the rock cycle. While
holding a piece of paper horizontally, fold the paper into three even sections (see
diagram below).
The Cover:
Cover
The cover (the top flap, when the pamphlet is folded up) should include
(10 points):
 A title
 Your name
 A picture (this can be drawn or from the computer/magazines)
 Color
Inside:
The left panel should include (25 points):
 The three types of rocks
 Descriptions of each type of rock
 Examples of each type of rock
Left
panel
Center
panel
Right
panel
The center panel should include (25 points):
 Diagram of the rock cycle (including each
type of rock and arrows representing each
process of the rock cycle)
 Explanation how each rock is formed
For the right panel, choose a rock and include (25 points):
 The name of the rock
 A picture of the rock
 How it is formed
 Where it can be found
 One interesting fact about the rock
Appearance and Grammar:
Your pamphlet should be neat and colored. Layout must be planned on a rough draft,
which will be shown to the teacher. All spelling and grammar should be correct and
information should be in your own words. (15 points)
