CAD/CAM; introduction, where it is: CAD/CAM case studies where it is going

Hardware : input devices, display devices, output devices, computation devices, communication
devices, software : Graphics, analysis, Data management.
System selection and acquisition: introduction, preliminary study, detailed task analysis, manual
costs definitions system requirement definition, writing the RFI Evaluation and vendor section
Applications :
(A) Mechanical drafting: introduction, basic CAD 2 dimensional drafting, Mechanical CAD
software, Developing a mechanical data base, solids Modeling.
(B) Electrical applications: introduction, advantages of computer graphic system for electrical
design and drafting CAD as an aid to electrical designers and drafters, production of electrical
schematic or wiring diagram, production of a printed circuit board design, designing integrated
circuits.
(C) Solid modeling: introduction, the market place for SM: converging technological
CAD/CAM and CAE, Current technology, interacting with SM systems, display requirements.
(D) Robotics: the industrial robot defined, the robots role in computer, integrated manufacturing
(CIM), CA D/CAM interfaces for Robots, basic Robot mechanisms and geometric, process
manipulation and control, OFF line programming, Artificial intelligence and adaptive control,
robot application.
