Structure of a lake • A lake is divided into three depth zones: • Epilimnion- warm surface layer • Metalimnion- temperature changes 1°C per meter of depth • Hypolimnion- cold and dark waters Flora Fauna Human Influences • Run off from rain storms • Fertilizer from our lawns
