What is it composed of?
Earth is composed of many elements.
Some are water, atmospheric gasses, ice,
oceanic crust(basalt, rock, silicate, iron,
magnesium), continental crust(granite- like
rock, sedimentary & metaphoric rock,
mercury)
What is its physical
features?
Earth’s physical features are rocks, bodies of
water (lakes, oceans, rivers, etc.), and
landforms( volcanoes, mountains, valleys,
plains, plateau, etc.)
What is Earth’s temperature. . .
High= 136⁰ F
Low= -12.6⁰F
Average= 57⁰F
What Explorations have
been made?
The continental drift theory by Alfred
Wegner taught us how the continents were
once a large land mass(Pangaea) and they
drifted apart to where they are today. The
journeys of Magellan, Vasco De Gama, and
Columbus taught us more about the world
we know today. Like how the world is
spherical not flat!
How Earth got its
name?
Earth got its name differently than
other planets. Instead of it coming from
a Greek/roman God or Goddess it came
from an English/German word which
means ground.
What is Earth’s Gravity?
Earth’s gravity is 9.78m/s²
