Hampshire and Isle of Wight BRANCH TEAM MEMBERS The current branch team members are as follows: Nick Hitchcock-Spencer MCIM, Chartered Marketer (Branch Chair) Nick has over 19 years’ experience in a marketing B2B and B2C environment within the office supplies industry. He has been involved in many aspects of marketing, with strong emphasis on creative and print production - working for Niceday Ltd, WH Smith Business Supplies and Guilbert UK. Nick currently works for Office Depot as a member of the media and print team, with responsibility for planning print production. Carolyn Lewis Studying Member (Branch Secretary) Since joining the Merchant Navy Welfare Board (MNWB) in 2009, Carolyn has taken on all aspects of marketing, including the UK Maritime Charities helpline, Seafarer Support. She works on a variety of projects to promote maritime charities both in and outside the sector, and offers marketing support to the Board’s constituent members. Prior to joining the Board, Carolyn worked in the maritime industry in a variety of roles including a cadetship with CP Ships and a Ships Agent for Graypen GP Shipping. Carolyn’s interest in marketing made her decide to study for a CAM Diploma in Marketing Communications, which she completed in June 2012. John Mc Gilveray Studying Member (Communications Officer) John is Marketing Manager for Beals Estate Agents & Surveyors Ltd and is responsible for the marketing activities across its 11 branches. His background includes over five years’ experience within financial services and he has been involved with digital marketing for over three years. Beals had previously never employed anyone in a marketing position and, since John's arrival, they have introduced new CRM systems, implemented a customer relationship team and developed the overall marketing strategy. John is currently studying CIM marketing qualifications with the aim of reaching Chartered Marketer status. Pravin Champaneria MCIM, Chartered Marketer (Vice Chair) Pravin has over 15 years’ marketing experience working at senior management level heading up the marketing organisation for global companies across USA/Asia and EMEA. Pravin has a proven B2B track record and possesses strong strategic, commercial and product management experience in high technology industries including broadcast TV, cable, satellite communications, IT and broadband distribution networks. Pravin has a keen interest in helping young SMEs align their marketing activities to take products to market successfully. He also holds an MBA. Julie Flower Julie Flower is an experienced marketer for BST; a safety consulting company that partners with clients globally to reduce workplace exposure to injury. Julie is skilled in all aspects of the marketing mix, driving visibility for BST throughout the EMEA region. Previously for BST, Julie ran numerous multilanguage client conferences, executive dinners and similar events throughout Europe and the Middle East. Julie began her career with ICI Paints initially as a research chemist completing a significant project for JCB, and subsequently as a technical adviser and technical sales professional. Julie holds a degree in English and History from Reading University and is an active member of CIM and of IOSH. Liz Rushall MCIM, Chartered Marketer (Sponsorship/Events) Liz Rushall is a consultant in strategic marketing, brand management, business development, sports marketing and communications, and runs Rushall Partnership with her husband, who is a professional sports coach. As a former member of the British Olympic sailing squad, she transfers the mental skills and discipline required to reach the top in sport to her approach to business and marketing. Through her work, she has extensive connections in professional yacht racing and the marine equipment trade and has a track record of building successful brands both in and outside this sector. She has been a member of CIM for 20 years, served on the Hampshire and Isle of Wight branch committee for three years, and is currently Chairman of the Participation and Membership Committee for sailing’s national governing body, the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), and a member of the RYA Council. The Chartered Institute of Marketing 2 Israr Jan-Parker MCIM, Chartered Marketer (Women in Business Officer) Israr is currently a senior lecturer and course leader for Fashion Management with Marketing at Southampton Solent University. Israr's key research interests include employability, fashion and anthropology, and brand personality (mainly luxury brands). Her commercial experience includes director of her own business specialising in Strategic Marketing Management services; advisor and researcher to international architects/builders specialising in hotel complexes; and project management across a range of business sectors. Israr has been a Chartered Marketer for 12 years. Roger Byatt FCIM, Chartered Marketer Roger Byatt was educated at Aberystwyth University and took CIM qualifications as a path into marketing. He later took a Masters degree in Marketing. His business background includes senior appointments as Marketing Manager for Britannia Building Society, Head of Marketing Strategy with Barclays, and Research and Information Manager for the London Stock Exchange. He has also worked for some leading consultancy organisations in marketing strategy and customer insight and has undertaken senior level consultancy work for companies such as Axa Sun Life, Lloyds Register of Shipping and the Royal Bank of Scotland. In 2001, Roger decided to take a side step and joined Southampton Solent University, training the next generation of marketers. He is now a Senior Lecturer in Marketing and runs CIM courses for the university. Roger is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a member of the Market Research Society and a member of the Academy of Marketing. Debbie Bouffler MCIM, Chartered Marketer Debbie has been involved in various aspects of marketing in several roles for over 16 years, and has been a lay member of the committee for just over a year now. Living in Basingstoke, Debbie helps to communicate and organise CIM events within North Hampshire and loves sharing her knowledge with others. The Chartered Institute of Marketing 3
