unending gratitude to his wife Rebecca,
l’amore della sua vita, for brightening his
days.
Nikko Magpaypo (Male Ensemble) Before
the big hair, YouTube/Instagram videos,
and live shows, Nikko was a shy, bald-headed boy who lived in his own little world,
only keeping to himself and never pictured
himself performing in front of a single
person. Born on July 7, 1995 in Chicago, IL,
Nikko-Daniel Zapanta Magpayo was raised
in a Filipino household by his mother,
father, and aunt who moved to Chicago
from The Philippines, along with his two
older sisters in 1992. As a kid, he would
(playfully/jokingly) sing along with his
father and his cassette tapes of The Beatles,
Elvis Presley, Stevie Wonder, and several
other “oldies” artists. Music and singing
wasn’t something he always took seriously
though, until he joined band in 5th grade,
learned the guitar in 8th grade, joined
choir his freshman year of high school,
and most importantly, a variety show and
a two theater productions, also freshman
year. It was at that moment, the night after
the opening of Seussical the Musical, he
realized performing is what he enjoyed
most out everything he has ever tried (and
he’s tried getting into a couple different
things: cars, basketball, football, and even
skateboarding). For the remainder of high
school, he did the rest of the variety shows,
(musical) theater productions, band, and
(show) choir. He is currently a singer/
guitarist in an R&B/Pop/Rock band, Minor
9ths, and they have performed in venues
such as The Wire, Bottom Lounge, and
House of Blues Chicago. In the Fall, he will
be attending Columbia College Chicago,
majoring in Music Business and hopes

working with/for one. This production of
Miss Saigon is his first one out of high
school, Maine East High School.

runs September 18- October 3. When
Mary isn’t at JPAC, she is stage managing
for Underscore Theatre (Chicago Musical
Theatre Festival) and working at Provision

for welcoming me back so many times! I’m
glad you guys aren’t sick of me yet! Also,
I’d like to thank my roommates and family
for supporting me through all my stressful
