Two fish meals a week - the key to preventing problems in children?
Fish is the main dietary source for a particular long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acid, ‘n-3’, which plays a central
role in neuronal growth and the development of the human brain. New research published in Clinical Nutrition
assessed children from two European studies at 7.5 and 8 years of age, and found that children who consumed 2
fish meals per week, including one of fatty fish, were less likely to show emotional and behavioural problems than
those who did not.
