Merwe The Faculty of Economic Sciences and Information Technology is one of the two faculties on the Vaal Triangle Campus that offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to prepare students for the fast-growing world of financial services industries, information technology, business mathematics, informatics, accounting, chartered accountants, economics, business management, marketing and sports sciences. A Chartered Accountant is the highest professional accounting qualification. After completion of the three year B.Com degree, successful applicants do a year B.Com (honours) degree. The honours give admission to the professional CA examinations. After passing both professional examinations and completing a three year contract with a registered auditor, the candidate can register as a Chartered Accountant. This degree is the initial stage of study leading to professional SAIPA qualification.
