Human Body Project
You have been hired as a travel consultant to design a luxury tour
through A Human Body System. Before you can collect your fee from the
Anatomy Travel Bureau, you must produce a power point presentation.
The owner of the travel bureau, Mr. Scully Bones, has informed you
that in order to win the contract you must highlight the trendy spots, the
exciting activities, and the imports and exports of the areas (organs,
functions of this system).
For insurance considerations, you must also discreetly mention any
possible dangers or special precautions that tourists might encounter in
visiting the system (diseases). You will be given one of the following
systems to complete:
(1) Skeletal, (2) Muscular, (3) Digestive, (4) Circulatory, (5) Respiratory, (6)
Excretory, (7) Immune, (8) Nervous, and (9) Integumentary.
Format for book/Power point:
 10 sheets of typing paper or flash drive
 A maximum of 7 sections/slides will be used for the system, 1 will be used for the
cover, and 1 will be used for the back cover.
 The key to this project is to give an overall sense of the organization and function
of your body system. You may use drawings, computer graphics, and photographs
of actual organs, pictures from magazines or books to help in your advertisement
of the system. All text must be typed or NEATLY written!
How the project is graded:
1. Covers (front and back) 12 Points
Create a colorful cover with at least 1 illustration
Include a creative/catchy title
2. Skeletal System 23 Points
 State the purpose of the skeletal system
 Name the major organs involved
 Explain how the skeletal system is involved in the delivery of food,
oxygen, and the removal of waste for the human body
 State the 5 functions of the skeletal system.
 Describe the four major types of movable joints (ball and socket,
hinge, pivot and gliding)
3. Muscular System 23 Points
 State the purpose of the muscular system
 Name the major organs involved
 Explain how the muscular system is involved in the delivery of food,
oxygen, and the removal of waste for the human body
 Describe the three types of muscle tissue: (smooth, cardiac, and
skeletal)
4. Respiratory System 23 Points
 State the purpose of the respiratory system
 Name the major organs involved
 Identify the function of the organs of the respiratory system
 Explain how the respiratory system is involved in the delivery of
food, oxygen, and the removal of waste for the human body
 Name (in order) the respiratory structures through which air passes
through when a person is breathing.
5. Excretory System/Urinary 23 Points
 State the purpose of the excretory system
 Name the major organs involved
 Identify the function of the organs of the excretory system
 Explain how the excretory system is involved in the delivery of
food, oxygen, and the removal of waste for the human body.
6. Immune System/ Lymphatic 23 Points
 State the purpose of the immune system
 Name the major organs involved
 Identify the function of the organs of the immune system
 Explain how the immune system is involved in the delivery of food,
oxygen, and the removal of waste for the human body
 Describe the body’s 3 lines of defense against pathogens. (a chart
would be nice here)
7. Nervous System 23 Points
 State the purpose of the nervous system
 Name the major organs involved
 Identify the function of the organs of the nervous system
 Explain how the nervous system is involved in the delivery of food,
oxygen, and the removal of waste for the human body
 Describe the types of neurons.
 Describe the functions of the organs of each of the senses.
8. Digestive System 23 Points
 State the purpose of the digestive system
 Name the major organs involved
 Identify the function of the organs of the digestive system
 Explain how the digestive system is involved in the delivery of food,
oxygen, and the removal of waste for the human body
 Describe how food travels through the human body.
 Describe the process of absorption.
 Name the materials absorbed in the small and large intestines.
9. Circulatory System/ Cardiovascular 23 Points
 State the purpose of the circulatory system
 Name the major organs involved
 Identify the function of the organs of the circulatory system
 Explain how the circulatory system is involved in the delivery of
food, oxygen, and the removal of waste for the human body
 Describe the function and structure of the three types of blood
vessels. (a chart would be nice here)
 Trace the path of blood through the circulatory system. (especially
the heart)
 List the four components of human blood.
10. Integumentary System 23 Points
 State the purpose of the Integumentary system.
 Name the major organs involved.
 Identify the function of the organs of the Integumentary system.
 Explain how the Integumentary system is involved in the delivery of
food, oxygen, and the removal of waste for the human body.
**** Don’t forget to research and discuss two diseases that attack your
body system. You can have a separate section in the power point for
diseases. (20 pts)
**** Also, you will be graded separately on some technology components
that must be included in your power point. (20 pts) This portion will be
presented to you next week!
