... underway. Measurements at the LHC will provide crucial new information to the existing studies through the measurement of flow at significantly higher initial densities. This is particularly important since elliptic flow data so far exhibit a steady rise in √sNN continuing up to the highest RHIC ene ...

... The design study of a giant detector, the Split-Field Magnet (SFM) was launched at CERN in 1970 under the direction of A. Minten for an experiment at the Intersecting Storage Rings (ISR). This detector comprised 70,000 wires, some of them 2 m long. Another group under J. Steinberger undertook the co ...

... hadron production in central nucleus-nucleus collisions at ultra-relativistic energies.” “It is interesting to note that central questions in hadron spectroscopy such as the existence (and nature) of the σ meson apparently play an important role in quark-gluon plasma physics. Our results strongly im ...

... A bi g mystery in theoretical physics is how charge produces and emits electricity force? Physicists think that all forces are caused by the exchange of particles. In the same way, the electromagnetic force is carried by particles called virtual photons. Two negatively charged electrons will exchan ...

Future Circular Collider

Future Circular Collider (FCC) is an integral conceptual design study for post-LHC particle accelerator options based on a new 80–100-km-circumference tunnel infrastructure. The collaboration is open to scientific institutes and companies of any size from all nations. At the moment there are 57 institutes from 22 nations. The Future Circular Collider study has an emphasis on proton-proton and electron-positron (lepton) high-energy frontier machines. It is exploring the potential of hadron and lepton circular colliders, performing an in-depth analysis of infrastructure and operation concepts and considering the technology research and development programs that would be required to build a future circular collider. A conceptual design report will be delivered before the end of 2018, in time for the next update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics.
