... As predicted by the VCZ theorem, the speckles size does not carry any information on the microscopic source properties, but depends only on its transversal size D. 2) As to the longitudinal coherence properties, the half plane z>0 can be divided in three zones, delimited by zvcz and by the farthest ...

High-power, fiber-laser-pumped frequency conversion sources for the ultraviolet

... high-power Yb-fiber laser at 1064 nm has been exploited as the pump source in the work presented in this thesis. Firstly, we have demonstrated a simple, inexpensive and novel UV source at 355 nm comprising two stages in an innovative multicrystal scheme. This involved two BIBO crystals efficiently ...

For a given beam size, etalons can be used to generate as much as 100 times more angular dispersion than gratings and prisms, and they have been used to construct high-resolution spectrometers [13,14] and pulse shapers [15]. ... beamformer (see section 1.2.4) and the beam pattern is formed (see section 1.2.4.3). Acoustic data from the array will often be used over several octaves in frequency. If an array of length L = 750m is used, then at frequency of 100Hz we have λ = 15m so λ/L = 1/50. Despite the fact that sound at 50H ...

Laser beam profiler

A laser beam profiler captures, displays, and records the spatial intensity profile of a laser beam at a particular plane transverse to the beam propagation path. Since there are many types of lasers — ultraviolet, visible, infrared, continuous wave, pulsed, high-power, low-power — there is an assortment of instrumentation for measuring laser beam profiles. No single laser beam profiler can handle every power level, pulse duration, repetition rate, wavelength, and beam size.
