... Much of the fun in this activity is making the electromagnet, but time considerations may mean that the electromagnets need to be preformed. Using the Magnetic field sensor allows smaller electromagnets to be made. With 2 m of wire the magnetic field created may not be powerful enough for a magnetic ...

... R.H.S (Right Hand Side) of the above equation is a quantity relating to the equation governing electrical and magnetic fields. It has units of velocity, but can be seen that its derivatives components (E and B) forces had no physical velocity components initially [5]. The fact is, Maxwell’s equation ...

... Question 5 (6 marks) In the book The Martian, written by Andy Weir, the protagonist, Mark Watney (m = 55 kg), has been stranded on the surface of Mars and must use a rocket, of mass 800 kg, to project himself into space in order to be rescued by a crew in orbiting Mars. Mars has a radius of 3.4 x 10 ...

Faraday paradox

This article describes the Faraday paradox in electromagnetism. There are many Faraday paradoxs in electrochemistry: see Faraday paradox (electrochemistry). The Faraday paradox (or Faraday's paradox) is any experiment in which Michael Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction appears to predict an incorrect result. The paradoxes fall into two classes:1. Faraday's law predicts that there will be zero EMF but there is a non-zero EMF.2. Faraday's law predicts that there will be a non-zero EMF but there is a zero EMF.Faraday deduced this law in 1831, after inventing the first electromagnetic generator or dynamo, but was never satisfied with his own explanation of the paradox.
