Synthesis of Inorganic Nanostructures in Reverse Micelles
Synthesis of Inorganic Nanostructures in Reverse Micelles

... micelles, microemulsions, vesicles, and lyotropic liquid crystals.[5] Specifically, reverse micelles are globular aggregates formed by the self-assembly of surfactants in apolar solvents, whereas normal micelles are globular aggregates formed by the self-assembly of surfactants in water.[6] The struc ...

Chapter 4 Metal nanoparticles stabilized by chiral ligands with carbohydrate backbone

... The metal particles are unstable with respect to the agglomeration to the bulk. The agglomeration is an undesired process because it leads to the loss of the properties associated with the colloidal state of the metal particles. The stability of these particles results from the equilibrium of the va ...

After 15 days of gravitational setting, 92% of the bare HFO particles had sedimented, compared with 1.9% and 2.5% sedimentation at CMC concentrations of 0.064 and 0.161 wt %, respectively. The results indicated that HFO ...

Silver nanoparticle

Silver nanoparticles are nanoparticles of silver of between 1 nm and 100 nm in size. While frequently described as being 'silver' some are composed of a large percentage of silver oxide due to their large ratio of surface-to-bulk silver atoms. Numerous shapes of nanoparticles can be constructed depending on the application at hand. Commonly used are spherical silver nanoparticles but diamond, octagonal and thin sheets are also popular.Silver nanoparticles may eventually offer treatment of various diseases. Their extremely large surface area permits the coordination of a vast number of ligands. The properties of silver nanoparticles applicable to human treatments are under investigation in laboratory and animal studies, assessing potential efficacy, toxicity, and costs.
